In the last few years, data transfers have been one of the most challenging aspects for American companies. While the primary focus has been on transfers from Europe, data transfers are a global issue with an ever-increasing array of restrictions from China to Latin America.
This panel will provide insights on how companies can navigate these difficult issues by providing recommendations on best practices and risk mitigation strategies. The panelists will also provide an update on the status of the Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework (i.e., Privacy Shield 2.0) and discuss whether such a mechanism will be a viable alternative. Ms. Ramsden, Senior Counsel at the US DOJ, will provide insights on the Executive Order on Enhancing Safeguards for United States Signals Intelligence Activities and the proposed functioning of the Data Protection Review Court.
What you’ll takeaway:
Discussion of the challenges facing organizations engaging in global data transfers including data transfers between the U.S., Europe, China and Latin America.
