40th Annual Privacy & Technology Law Forum

Please save the date for our upcoming 40th annual Privacy & Technology Law Forum (“PTLF”) sponsored by the Privacy & Technology Law Section. The format will be the same as last year’s PTLF – the first day will be in person at the State Bar's Conference Center and the second day will be virtual.

Overview:

The event will include a wide range of privacy, AI and technology law-related topics. We plan to include an hour of ethics and an hour of professionalism. Topics will include state privacy laws, the complexities of allowing children to use chatbots, vendor management, agentic AI, cyber insurance, attorney use of AI tools, privacy product counseling, ad tech challenges and Chris Hoofnagle, a professor at University of California, Berkeley, as the keynote speaker. Speakers will include in-house attorneys, government and law firm attorneys.

When:

Tuesday, March 3rd from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. with a reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m. (In-person ONLY) Sign-in and breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the CLE starting at 9 a.m.

Wednesday, March 4th from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Virtually ONLY) 8 - 9 a.m. will be for coffee and networking, and the CLE will begin at 9 a.m.

CLE Credit: 10 total hours, with 8 general, 1 ethics and 1 professionalism (pending approval)

Post-Event Reception:

We will have a post-event reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on March 3rd at the State Bar Conference Center.

Privacy Day Reception

Please join the Privacy & Technology Law Section for a networking reception to celebrate Privacy Day! Event is on Thursday, January 29 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This event is for Privacy & Technology members only and spots are limited.
