CLE: CFIUS/FIRRMA CLE Program

  • State Bar of Georgia Privacy and Technology Law Section 104 Marietta Street NorthWest Atlanta, GA, 30303 United States (map)

Please join the Privacy & Technology Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia for a virtual CLE on November 8, 2021, from 12 - 1 p.m. on the expanded jurisdiction and new procedures of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the US (CFIUS) as they are increasingly applied to a wide range of legacy and emerging technology companies.

The adoption of the Foreign Investment Risk Review Modernization Act (FIRRMA) in 2018 has expanded the jurisdiction of CFIUS and resulted in the issuance of two major regulation packages that are now final and in effect. The program will provide a brief introduction to CFIUS and discuss the new regulations and current CFIUS practice.

Our Speaker will be Jason Waite, partner in the Washington, D.C. Office of Alston & Bird. Jason leads the firm’s international trade practice. He concentrates on foreign investment regulation, export controls, economic sanctions and related national security and international trade matters impacting international business.

One hour of general CLE credit (pending approval).
